Youth PAL Course & Shooting Camp

The Chase & District Fish & Game Club together with Leslie & Walt Koshynsky are pleased to offer a Youth PAL Course & Shooting Camp for young people from the Age of 12 to 17. This will run August 1st to August 3rd from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Chase & District Fish and Game Club range (724 Turtle Valley Road). Students will spend the mornings taking the Canadian Firearms Course and the afternoons shooting. Emphasis will be placed on safety. Lunch will be provided however, if you have special dietary needs, please bring lunch. Participants are asked to bring ear protection, eye protection and a pen. There will be a limited amount of safety equipment available but if possible, please bring your own.

Shooting will be with certified ranges who have coached Arctic Winter Games shooters, Canada Winter Games shooters and some Olympic shooters. A high emphasis will be placed on safety and shooting will be with close supervision. We are planning to shoot several different firearms actions so that students will be familiar with a variety of firearms.

Space is limited to 12 students. The first 12 students who have completed payment will be the only ones accepted.

Parents are welcome to attend as volunteers. There will be a fee of $50 per adult to cover range fee and food.

August 2
8:00-noon PAL Modules 5,9,10,11 & Written exam
Lunch hotdogs, chips, pop/water, cookies or cake
1:00-3:00 shotgun shooting and more rifle shooting

August 3
8:00-noon PAL Practical Exams & a short restricted class explaining handguns and handgun safety
Lunch chili dogs, potato salad, pop/water, cookies
1:00-3:00 handgun shooting

THE RANGE WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL MEMBERS DURING THE DURATION OF THIS COURSE, TUES AUG 1st to THURS AUG 3rd, opening again to members Friday, Aug 4th, 2023.
